SFC gets onboard with EMMoU

The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) is one of the first signatories of the Enhanced Multilateral Memorandum of Understanding Concerning Consultation and Cooperation and the Exchange of Information (EMMoU), a mechanism for regulators to share essential investigative material. The SFC’s participation in the EMMoU is an important step in its continued efforts towards combating cross-border financial misconduct.

In an article published by the International Financial Law Review, Baker McKenzie Partners Cynthia Tang and Bryan Ng write about the International Organisation of Securities Commissions’ (IOSCO’s) enhanced cooperation standards, its expanded scope of assistance, and implications upon SFC enforcement.
